Mumbai, January 16: Popular Bollywood actor Saif Ali
Khan was attacked by a burglar at his Mumbai home. The shocking incident
happened when the intruder entered the room of Saif and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s
younger son, Jeh. The actor was stabbed six times while trying to protect his
child.
According to reports, Saif rushed to save Jeh when he saw the burglar threatening him. During this, the accused stabbed Saif multiple times. Saif was taken to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent surgery and received treatment. Thankfully, he has now recovered and returned to work.
The police have arrested the attacker, who has been
identified as Shariful Islam, a man from Bangladesh. The Mumbai Police have
filed a detailed chargesheet against him at the Bandra Court. This chargesheet
is more than 1000 pages long and includes strong evidence collected during the
investigation.
As per a report by ANI, the police stated, “This chargesheet
includes several pieces of evidence found against Shariful Islam. The forensic
lab report is also part of the chargesheet. It confirms that the knife pieces
found at the crime scene, from Saif Ali Khan’s body, and from the accused, all
came from the same knife. The knife was broken into three pieces.”
The police also mentioned that they found the fingerprint of
the accused’s left hand during the investigation, and it has been added to the
chargesheet as proof.
Saif Ali Khan spoke about the incident in an interview with
the Delhi Times. He said, “It’s beyond. I don’t know what it is. It
feels like incredibly lucky. A friend of mine said – ‘Let’s say, you were
forced to roll a deadly dice. And you rolled a six.’ I think that’s a good way
of putting it because I didn’t want to roll this dice. But it’s like you roll
any other number and you’re dead.”
After this scary event, security around Saif and his family
has been increased. Saif and Kareena have also requested photographers not to
click pictures of their sons, Taimur and Jeh, for safety reasons.
The entire incident has shocked fans and the film industry.
But Saif’s bravery in protecting his son and surviving the attack has also been
praised by many.
